Wd Not Working On Mac

I have a MAC Book Pro and also have the WD Passport, it was working just the other day and now it wasn't. I could hear it working and see the white light on but it was NOT showing up in devices but WAS showing up in disc utility. Here's what I did; With my WD Passport plugged in I went to; FINDER. WD My Passport is not detected or recognized. WD My Passport does not show up on PC or Mac. The WD external hard drive does not spin. Clicking noises from WD My Passport hard drive. The power LED is on but the WD drive is not accessible. Unable to see the data files in WD drive when it detected. If you did, then next time you plug the WD MyBook to the Mac, the WP Unlocker will not start automatically - it is a glitch i have seen only with the MyBook. Since the unlocker will not show up, the hard drive will remain unseen by the mac. I have a WD My Passport and this problem does not exist. Clicking Western Digital My Passport Not Recognized – The Dreaded 'Click of Death' A healthy hard drive clicks once upon starting up. This is the sound of the read/write heads moving up the ramp that guides them into place over the data storage platters.

I understand you're unable to install an app downloaded from a website. Can you provide more detail about what happens when you try installing the app? If you get an error message, what does it say?
